Chicken Skin Arrival....ROATAN

Airport rendezvous was exciting and loud with rounds of hugs and kisses as both travel groups unite. With our successful arrival of all five players and all luggage, we are now full of anticipation of awaiting island jewels. Five women and three generations enliven the taxi ride from airport with nonstop travel tales, pointing out sights of quaint and picturesque new island adventure grounds. We are definitely in el Caribe, with colorful houses, town with children in school uniforms, busy tiendas (small stores), skinny dirt road with cars navigating each other, pedestrians, dogs, bikes and carts. Along the coast, casas (houses) are on stilts at the shore with wooden fishing boats in front and blue Caribe with obvious reef off shore.

We loved our casual, island style digs at Land's End Resort upon first sight. We walked into rustic open air lounge in awed silence with immediate chicken skin, confirmation this is our perfect island retreat. We were greeted with hugs from our new friend, Adi, our transplanted Austrian hotelier. We squealed with joy as we approached self service cantina area on point of resort with more than 180 degree view of turquoise Caribe and "iron shore" jagged coral. Cold cervesas (beers) were an order as we taste tested local brews to know our favorite of many cervesas to come.

I jumped into warm (!) and refreshing Caribe from ladder at resort shore to quickly explore backyard swimming. I see "potential" with miniature purple and blue Gregorian fans and a nice variety of miniature tropical fish. I feel confident, upon swimming exploration, we will find the enlarged version of this miniature near shore world.
